Denise Bates has a PhD in Health Studies, and has studied with Jim Gordon, M.D., founder of the Center for Mind-Body Medicine, and Richard Mollica, M.D., at the Harvard Program for Refugee Trauma and Recovery. Denise centers her work in Mind-Body healing, particularly as it relates to releasing traumatic or stressful events. Denise Bates Ph.D is also an Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki Master and a certified NLP practitioner.

Denise Bates Ph.D has worked extensively in Africa, the Middle East and North America focused upon public health and the integration of refugee communities. An admirable advocate for public health, refugee settlement and integration Denise Bates Ph.D integrates her academic research and admirable professional experience with her passion for holistic therapies, spirituality and healing. She is currently pioneering the development of a holistic healing and education network across the United States. Known for her heartfelt concern for the human condition and underprivileged communities, Denise Bates Ph.D is is currently planning to build upon her academic publications with books related to spirituality and holistic therapy. She resides in Tennessee with her husband and two sons but practices and teaches around the world.
